Pamela Privette is the owner and executive producer of PageantLIVE. Pamela, who spent many years in the military, believes positive pageantry has the same type of mentorship opportunities as those found in the military. Pamela is considered a pioneer in the movement of mentorship of women. Having Joined the military in 1978 when women only made up 3% of the total forces, Pamela, along with others of her time, assisted in helping to bring about the positive changes women in today’s military now enjoy. Pamela worked to open doors for the next generation of women in the military, as the women before her did to provide her the opportunity to serve our country. Earlier in her career, Pamela was amongst the first women to be assigned to a male/female integrated sea going vessel; while later she had the distinction of being the highest-ranking enlisted woman in the region while stationed in Juneau, Alaska. Pamela’s service to the country spanned many conflicts and wars including the Kosovo War, Bosnian War, Somali Civil War, and the Gulf War. Pamela retired from the military in 2000, returning to her native Georgia. She completed her four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in two and half years while her husband was deployed during the Afghanistan War and while raising their two daughters, Amber and Paige. Her time in the military allowed Pamela to learn and refine the techniques of leading women to success; yet the struggle to guide women to support one another continues. In May 2012, the web-based show PageantLIVE (www.pageantlive.com) was launched with host Paige Clark, 2012 Miss Maryland International Junior Miss. PageantLIVE has no affiliation with any specific pageant, however. Paige took the pioneering spirit from her mother in wanting to create something unique for women when she founded PageantLIVE, which continues to have the distinction of being the only show if it’s kind in the world. Though PageantLIVE has a great deal of interaction with the many women involved both in and behind the scenes of pageantry, the show openly welcomes pageant Kings to the show as well. After over four years in the industry, PageantLIVE has grown internationally, with hosts reporting and covering pageantry events from around the country and around the globe. After residing in approximately thirty different cities across the US and in three foreign countries, Pamela calls Annapolis, Maryland, her home along with her spouse, Patrick, and daughter’s Amber and Paige, and four dogs. She is currently an Information Technology Strategist and continues to create growth opportunities for PageantLIVE and the many women and men associated with the brand today, yet stays grounded and centered by spending time with her family.
